One hell of a long journey across two continents finally arrived yesterday - a baobab sculpture created for Afrikaburn outside Cape Town in April 2017, arrived in deepest East Sussex. Created by a friend it was the centrepiece of a large installation called Yggdrasil which burnt at sunrise on the final morning of the festival. [...]
So we started clearing the woodland at the start of the year which had been overgrowing for what must have been left for over 40 years. Our plan was not to clear the wood but simply remove the flotsam & jetsam that doesn't stand a chance, to open up views, and finally to remove all [...]

Not sure what it is yet but digging about this afternoon revealed a brick structure - always worth having a little dig on a Sunday afternoon methinks. On the lawn outside the kitchen veranda type thing - there may be more buried away but looks like drainage/cellar/burial chamber/water tank??????? Ideas on a postcard entitled "Found [...]

Part of a long term plan was started over the weekend and finished this evening. An old iron sided, wooden slatted bench was picked up from an auction a few weeks ago for £10. Equipped with a drill, GCSE CDT skills and enthusiasm we replaced all the rotten slats with some reclaimed hard wood from [...]
